Gary Hein, Long Term Care Specialist




Gary joined Prairieland Insurance Group in November 2006 as a certified long-term care insurance specialist.  Gary graduated from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL  with a Bachelor of Science in Education.  Gary taught Industrial Arts in High School for six years.  Gary owned and operated the White Hen Pantry Convenience Store on the University of Illinois Campus from 1983-1989.  Gary moved back to the family farm in 1985 and took over the farming operation from his father who was retiring.  

Gary has specialized in Long-Term Care Insurance since 2004.  He received his long-term care training at the General Electric (Now Genworth Financial) corporate headquarters, graduating from their long-term care program.

Gary has been married to his wife Charlyene for 31 years. She has owned and operated Charlys Sunnycrest Salon in Urbana for 25 years.  Gary and Charlyene have two grown sons.  Gary and Charlyene have been members of the American Lutheran Church in Rantoul for the past 25 years.  Gary is a member of the Champaign County Farm Bureau and the I&I Tractor Club.  Gary and Charlyene enjoy spending time fishing at their cabin on Lake Sara in Effingham.
